The other guys went out on a boat over to Wizard beach on the next island over, and I opted to stick around town on my own.
I walked around for most of the morning. It’s not the most attractive town I’ve been in, but the people are friendly and it wasn’t so blazingly hot.
I spent the afternoon in a hammock on the hostel rooftop, finally getting some nice solitary free time. Just as I was about to grab some lunch, the other guys got back from surfing and joined me.
For dinner, most of the hostel guests (about 20 people) chipped in some cash and some hard work to make a feast complete with yucca fries for an appetizer, baked fish main course and ice cream and fresh pineapple dessert.
After dinner, I was convinced to join the crowd going out surfing the next morning. It remains to be seen if I’ll do any surfing on the rough waves over jagged coral reef or just sit on the boat with a cold beer in one hand and a fishing rod in the other. Guess which one I’m leaning towards.
