One year ended, another began, and I’m Uncle Ben for the fifth time. Â Emma, if you’re reading this, you’re officially the smartest.
My life keeps rolling on, much as it has these last 15 months in the Big Apple. I work a lot. I go out with friends a lot. And no matter how many times I walk through Prospect Park, I’ll always be amazed at how great it is.
I don’t really do New Years Resolutions because I think they just set oneself up for failure, but I would love to work on a few goals I’ve had on the backburner for a while. Â These are just a few issues I might like to resolve. You might call these “resolutions.” Damn.
- I want to finish the 100 pushup program (I’m on week 1).
- I want to finish at least one of the many side projects I’ve let gather dust over the years.
- I’d like to read more. Currently I’m about 3/4 through A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius. Next on the list: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
- I’m going to play Ultimate. I can’t let the fact that I no longer live in perfect weather keep me from playing the only sport where I don’t completely embarass myself.
I just hope I haven’t set the bar too high for myself.
So, how much have you now done on the pushups?
Did you finish the book?
How’s that Ultimate challenge going? There is quite a bit of snow around here … what a mess. I want to be back in AZ!!!
