I started off the day with a few goals. I wanted to book a hike up one of the peaks around the lake, take a kayak out, play frisbee and read a bunch of my book (I’ve borrowed Reminiscences of the Cuban Revolutionary War which has been fascinating so far).

Well, San Pedro got the best of me and I failed to do any of the above. Instead, I cooked breakfast, sat around singing and playing guitar for hours, cooked lunch, sat around the guitar for a few more hours, ran into some friends from the Volcano hike, brought them out to El Barrio (a small but fun bar where our friend Maria bartends), somehow got put in charge of DJing with my iPod for the night (it’s a good thing everybody there loved Tenacious D), led the entire bar crowd back to our hostel for the afterparty, more singing and playing guitar deep into the night.

Thanfully, my goals these days all have fairly loose deadlines. There’s always mañana.
